dr martens
director
Bec directed a short film for Dr Marten’s internal team and community to reaffirm the meaning of the company’s signature tagline Rebellious Self Expression. She drew on her creative network to cast an array of people, of all shapes and sizes, who have worn and loved Dr Martens for decades. Dancers, musicians, photographers and in house Dr Marten’s staff revealed their various talents and shared personal stories on what the brand had meant to them. Bec was incredibly privileged to hear from people who were willing to be truly vulnerable in the stories they shared. The people first documentary blended interview and archive footage to explore what the brand’s tagline has meant in the past, what it means today and what it will mean in the future for people all over the world.
